Classy & Sassy Style with Alexa – Lexington Tween Photographer
Ray Davis Photography had the pleasure of capturing Tween Alexa’s vibrant personality.
Alexa is a girl of spunk! From her bright pink accessories to her sparkling smile. We had such a blast traversing downtown Lexington for her urban-inspired photoshoot. I have to thank her for trusting me when I told her to pose amidst 3 dumpsters (yup, dumpsters)- the best locations are sometimes hidden in the strangest places.
Recently here at Ray Davis Photography, I have been impassioned to capture tweens. It has become my mission to preserve and highlight these last years of childhood. Why tweens? Just think about it for a second. Most people (yourself included) have a smattering of baby photos and then blank albums (other than the terror that is school pictures *shudder*) until their Senior Year in High School for their Senior Portraits.
These tween years are just as important. This is a time of growth, of discovery, and identity building. This is also the age that introduces the struggle with self-confidence. A tween photo session is a CONFIDENCE BOOSTER and a memory preserver (yes, we may not want to remember those years with braces, but they were once apart of our personal history). Moreover, it is a preserver of childhood freckles and innocent smiles. I personally absolutely ADORE this age! Each tween is different and unique. This keeps my creative juices flowing at max capacity to design unique sessions catered to their individuality.
Alexa, herself, sported three different looks for her session from classy, spunk, and University of Kentucky fan. For her first look she catered to her love of modern beauty complete with bright pink glasses.
Her second outfit was based on her extracurricular pass time – DANCE. We worked VERY HARD to create the “crosswalk-jumping shot” below. Safety is always our top priority – so we had a spotter on each side and nailed this shot after a few tries. (Round of applause for Alexa’s great jumping ability and energy please!)
Alexa’s final look was in tribute to her University of Kentucky fan passion. Decked out in white and blue in support of her BIG BLUE NATION love.
